Amelia has experience acting in a wide variety of commercial disputes across a number of jurisdictions and industry sectors, with established expertise in insurance and reinsurance disputes and a more recent focus on financial services disputes. Amelia has advised a broad range of clients, including liquidators, private and public corporations and insurers and insureds and has conducted large scale international arbitration and litigation. In 2008 and 2009 in London, Amelia was involved in a high-profile international reinsurance fraud dispute in the High Court of England and Wales, acting for a number of global reinsurers against an insurance company owned by the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea. The case generated global publicity throughout the insurance industry and involved working with numerous experts to resolve complex technical and social issues.
